Terms of Service
Last updated: August 28, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Callana ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Callana provides browser-based international calling to landlines and mobile phones worldwide. Calls are made using WebRTC technology through your web browser. No additional software or SIM card is required.
3. Account
- You must provide a valid email address to create an account
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service
- One account per person or business is permitted unless Callana has expressly authorized additional accounts in writing
- You must provide accurate and current information and update it when necessary
- You are responsible for all activity conducted through your account
You must not create or use another account to evade a suspension, termination, usage restriction, payment obligation, fraud-prevention measure, or other enforcement action.
Callana may investigate accounts that appear to be controlled by the same person or business. Relevant indicators may include shared payment information, email addresses, telephone numbers, device or network information, identity information, account activity, or other reliable evidence. These indicators may be considered together but do not automatically establish a violation. Callana will assess the available evidence relating to each account before taking enforcement action, except where immediate action is reasonably necessary to protect Callana, its providers, or other users.
4. Wallet and Payments
- You must add credit to your wallet before making calls
- Wallet credit does not expire
- Payments are processed securely via Stripe
- Call charges are deducted from your wallet balance in real time
- The per-minute rate is displayed before you initiate each call
- All prices are in US Dollars (USD)
- Callana may suspend or restrict wallet use where reasonably necessary to investigate suspected fraud, unauthorized activity, chargebacks, unlawful use, or a breach of these Terms
- Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory rights or remedies available under applicable law
5. Rates and Pricing
- Rates are charged per minute based on the destination country
- Rates may change at any time — the current rate is always displayed before you call
- Calls are billed per minute, rounded up to the nearest minute
- There are no setup fees, subscriptions, or hidden charges
6. Caller ID
You may optionally verify and use your own phone number as your caller ID. You must only use phone numbers that you own or are authorized to use. You must not use caller ID information to impersonate another person or organization or for deceptive, fraudulent, threatening, harassing, or unlawful purposes. Misuse of caller ID may result in suspension or termination of your account.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Make harassing, threatening, or fraudulent calls
- Transmit illegal content
- Spoof caller ID for deceptive purposes
- Use automated dialing systems, bots, scripts, or other systems that generate calls without appropriate authorization
- Resell the Service without authorization
- Test, scan, probe, or validate telephone numbers through repeated calls
- Interfere with Callana’s networks, telecommunications providers, fraud controls, payment systems, or other users
- Make calls in a repeated, excessive, systematic, or commercially unreasonable manner that creates material costs, risks, or disruption for Callana or its providers
Abandoned and zero-duration calls
A call may be recorded as abandoned or zero-duration where it ends before connection, answer, or completion, including where the recorded duration is zero seconds.
A single failed, unanswered, or zero-duration call does not by itself constitute a breach of these Terms. Callana may investigate a pattern of repeated, excessive, systematic, or commercially unreasonable calls, taking into account the volume, frequency, timing, destinations, caller-ID data, account history, and other relevant circumstances.
A pattern may constitute misuse where it reasonably indicates number testing, automated or scripted calling, fraud, evasion of service controls, harassment, or activity likely to impose unreasonable costs or risks on Callana, its telecommunications providers, or other users.
8. Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Call quality depends on your internet connection. We are not liable for dropped calls, poor audio quality, or service interruptions caused by factors outside our control.
9. Refunds
Wallet credit is generally non-refundable. If you experience a technical issue that results in incorrect charges, contact us and we will review your case.
Nothing in this section excludes or limits any refund, withdrawal, chargeback, or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
10. Termination
Callana may suspend all or part of your account where reasonably necessary to investigate a suspected breach of these Terms, fraud, unlawful activity, or misuse; prevent continued abandoned, automated, number-testing, or otherwise abusive calling activity; protect Callana, its telecommunications providers, payment providers, or other users; comply with a legal, regulatory, payment-provider, or telecommunications-provider requirement; or prevent evasion of a prior restriction, suspension, or termination.
Where reasonably practicable, Callana will notify you of the suspension and provide the general reason. Callana may delay or limit notice where immediate disclosure could compromise fraud prevention, security, an investigation, or a legal obligation. A suspension may remain in place for as long as reasonably necessary to complete the investigation or address the relevant risk. You may contact support to provide relevant information or request a review.
Callana may terminate your account where you materially breach these Terms; engage in fraud, unlawful activity, or deliberate misuse; create or use duplicate or related accounts to circumvent enforcement; continued access creates a material security, legal, financial, telecommunications, or provider risk; or Callana is required to do so by law or by an essential service provider.
Where reasonably practicable, Callana will provide notice of termination and the general reason. You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Remaining wallet balance at the time of account closure is generally non-refundable, subject to applicable law and any mandatory rights or remedies. Suspension or termination does not affect payment obligations, liability for prior misuse, dispute rights, or other obligations that by their nature continue after suspension or termination.
11. Limitation of Liability
Callana is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by applicable law. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, except where such liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Our total liability is limited to the amount of credit in your wallet, except in cases involving fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, injury to life, body, or health, breach of essential contractual obligations, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Service, applicable law, telecommunications requirements, security practices, or our business operations. We will provide notice of material changes where required by applicable law. If required by law, you will have the opportunity to terminate the affected service before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms where legally permitted.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the contracting Callana legal entity is registered.
If you are a consumer, you may bring claims before any court that has jurisdiction under applicable mandatory law. Nothing in these Terms deprives you of mandatory statutory rights or remedies.
